Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.66%, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a negative note as the All Share Index fell by 0.66% to close at 27,425.57 points against the previous close of 27,607.02 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.342 trillion, shedding N89 billion from the previous close of N13.431 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 116 million units, valued at N1.65 billion in 3,129 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 18 stocks gained while 14 stocks also declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Continental Reinsurance led the gainers’ list, gaining 9.79% to close at N1.57 from the previous close of N1.43.

Africa Prudential Plc, Forte Oil and Neimeth among others also grew their share prices by 8.57%, 6.82% and 6.38% respectively.

Percentage Losers

UACN, Flour Mills of Nigeria and UAC Properties among other price decliners shed 9.00%, 5.59% and 5.38% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 19.09million units of its shares in 368 deals, valued at N353.45 million.
