Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.39%, Monday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index dropped by 0.39% to close at 27,691.85 points against the previous close of 27,800.17 points on Friday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.472 trillion, shedding N52 billion from the previous close of N13.524 trillion last Friday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 158.27 million units, valued at N2.3 billion in 3,595 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 19 stocks gained, while 21 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

ABC Transport and Sovereign Trust Insurance with 10% growth both led the gainers chart, closing at N0.33 and N0.22 respectively.

John Holt and NPF Microfinance Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.70% and 8.62% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Seplat and Forte Oil both shed their share prices 10% to close at N441 and N14.4 respectively.

Julius Berger, Champions Breweries and Courtville among others also shed their share prices by 9.95%, 9.47% and 9.09% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Transcorp traded about 31.76 million units of its shares in 90 deals, valued at N33.98 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 18.65 million units of its shares in 379 deals, valued at N348.4 million.
