Nigerian Bourse closed 0.53% lower, Tuesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.53% to close at 31,178.71 points against the previous close of 31,344.24 points on Monday.

Market capitalisation declined by 0.52% to close at N11.627 trillion against the previous close of N11.688 trillion, shedding N61 billion.

The volume and value of traded stocks grew by 61.44% and 3.76% to close at 359.5 million units and N1.9 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

Market breadth closed negative as 14 stocks gained while 30 stocks declined.

Percentage Gainers

Red Star Express Plc with 10.00% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N5.5 from the previous close of N5.00

UAC Properties, WAPIC Insurance, PZ and ABC Transport among other stocks grew 9.55%, 7.69%, 7.52% and 6.90% of their share prices respectively.

Percentage Losers

Academy Press Plc and Neimeth tops the losers’ chart, shedding 10% of their share prices to close at N0.45 and N0.63 respectively.

Linkage Assurance and Ikeja Hotel among others on the losers’ chart also shed 9.68% and 9.52% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • UBA traded about 48.84 million units of its shares in 300 deals, valued at N354.75 million.
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc traded about 100.4 million units of its shares in 9 deals, valued at N31.1million.
