The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has put in place steps to allow customers roll over unused data. Prof. Umar Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairaman of the commission made this known at the Port Harcourt International Trade Fair where he mandated staff at the zonal level to take the campaign to the grassroots.
Consumers are often under pressure to renew their data packages before expiry in order not to lose data left over. Data packages in Nigeria are usually daily, weekly, or monthly.
The Nigerian Communications Commission came into existence in 2003 after then President Obasanajo signed a bill passed by the National assembly into law. The NCC’s functions include issuing telecommunications licenses and carrying out oversight of their operations.
