Tuesday May 23, 2017:
Trading on the floor of the Nigerian stock Exchange rebounded on Tuesday to close positive.
The growth was very marginal as the market grew by less than 0.1 %.
Market’s recovery was quite commendable as all the main indexes closed positive save Aggregate Value, for the day.
Low cap stocks dominated the day’s trading. However, high cap stocks like NB and NESTLE grew, low cap stocks like TOTAL and DANGCEM declined while MOBIL, SEPLAT, 7UP and GUINNESS retained their prices in the day.
However, market breadth was positive as total number of Equities on the gainers’ chart out-numbered the number of equities on the losers’ chart.
Of the 174 stocks on the floor of the Stock Exchange on Tuesday, 66.09 % (115 stocks) were traded out of which 23 stocks grew in price and 18 stocks declined in price while 133 stocks had their prices unchanged.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange’ All Share Index (NSEASI) and Market Capitalization (MKT CAP) closed positive, keeping the Year-to-Date at 4.53%.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange’ All Share Index (NSEASI) for Tuesday May 23, 2017 closed at 28,093.30 which is a 0.05% more than the previous session’s 28,078.30
Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.712 trillion against previous session of ₦9.707 trillion, representing 0.05% an increase.
3,908 deals of the day represent an increase of 11.72% against previous session’s 3,498 deals.
The 0.213 billion units of equities traded for the day were 2.09% more than previous session’s 0.208billion units.
Value of equities traded for the day decreased by 41.67% from previous session’s ₦ 3.739 billion to ₦2.181 billion which was recorded for the day.

UAC-PROP, FIDSON and VITAFOAM led twenty other percentage price gainers for the day.
Losers for the day (18):
DANGFLOUR, LEARNAFRCA and CCNN led other fifteen percentage price losers for the day.
Ten Best Stocks:
FBNH, OANDO and ZENITHBANK recorded the most deals in the day.
FBNH, DIAMONDBNK and FIDELITY recorded the most volume in the day.
SEPLAT, GUARANTY and ZENITHBANK recorded the most value in the day.
The Financial Services industry was the most active industry for the day with 161.207 million shares exchanged for ₦1.069 billion Tuesday.
Oil and Gas industry was next with 12.107 million share traded for ₦0.694 billion.
Construction/Real Estate Industry, Conglomerates Industry and Consumer Goods Industry followed respectively.
Market breadth closed positive as with 23 gainers against 18 losers.
