Market Extends Downward trend, Closes 0.20% Lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Stock Market on Wednesday extended its downtrend movement as the All Share Index dropped further by o.20% to close at 29,609.00 points below the previous close of 29,668.68 points on Tuesday.

Market Capitalisation was down also by 0.20% to close at N13.048 trillion against Tuesday’s record of N13.074 trillion, shedding N26 billion.

The aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 394 million units and N3.2 billion in 3,377 deals.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed negative as 17 stocks gained while 19 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

COURTVILLE led other gainers with 9.52% growth to close at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.21

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance grew by 9.09% while Linkage Assurance and Nigerian Breweries gained 7.56% and 6.90% respectively.

Percentage Losers

CHAMS tops the losers’ list, shedding 10.00% of its share price. Also on the red chart are BETA GLASS, CCNN and Prestige Assurance all shedding 9.97%, 9.77% and 7.41% of their share prices ahead of other stocks that declined.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty traded about 20 million units of its shares in 157 deals, valued at about N625 million.
