Investor gain N16bn as equities market inches up by 0.12%

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.12% to settle at 24,306.36 points from the previous close of 24,276.56 points on Thursday.

Investors gain N16 billion as Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.13% to close at N12.680 trillion from the previous close of N12.664 trillion.

An aggregate of 131.63 million units of shares were traded in 3,044 deals, valued at N899.49 million.

 

Market Breadth 

The market breadth closed positive as 13 equities gained while 9 equities declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Livestock Feeds led other percentage gainers with 9.80% growth, closing at N0.56 from the previous close of N0.51.

International Breweries, Vitafoam and Glaxosmith among other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.94%, 5.13% and 4.35% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport led other price decliners as it shed 8.93% of its share price to close at N0.51 from the previous close of N0.56.

Regency Assurance and AIICO Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.33% and 4.26% respectively.

 

 Volume Drivers

  • Sterling Bank traded about 17.66 million units of its shares in 98 deals, valued at N22.63 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded 13.24 million units of its shares in 280 deals, valued at N220.46 million.
  • UBA traded 7.47 million units of its shares in 143 deals, valued at N47 million.
