GT Bank led 11 other gainers as NSEASI sheds more weight, Tuesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed in red as the All Share Index marginally dropped by 0.04% to close at 29,149.46 points against the previous close of 29,162.24 points on Monday.

The Market Capitalisation was down by 0.05% to close at N10.949 trillion against the previous capitalisation of N10.954 trillion thereby shedding N5 billion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 374 million units and N3.06 billion in 3,634 deals.

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed negative as 12 stocks gained while 15 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

Guaranty Trust Bank with 7.77% growth led other gainers to close at N34.00 from the previous close of N31.55.

Chams and Stanbic IBTC also grew their share prices by 7.69 % and 6.48% respectively among others on the gainers’ list.

Percentage Losers

NEM Insurance, Ecobank Transnational International (ETI) and Livestock Feeds among others shed 9.87%, 6.67% and 5.66% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Driver

  • Sterling Bank traded about 119.7 million units of its shares in 75 deals, valued at N311.3 million.
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 24 million units of its shares in 354 deals, valued at N787.99 million.
