Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.75% to close at 29,062.50 points against the previous close of 29,283.15 points on Tuesday.
The Market capitalisation declined by 0.75% to close at N14.992 against the previous close of N15.106 trillion thereby shedding N114 billion at the close of trade.
Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 360 million units, down by 46% against the previous close of 666.78 million units.
The value of traded stocks declined by 56.49%, closing at N2.83 billion against the previous close of N6.52 billion.
Total number of deals at the close of trade was 4,345, down by 23.92% against the previous close of 5,711 deals on Tuesday.
Market Breadth
The market Breadth closed negative as 11 stocks gained while 17 stocks declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Beta Glass again led the gainers’ list with 10% growth to close at N64.9 from the previous close of N59.
Cornerstone Insurance, Glaxosmith and Forte Oil among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.43%, 7.14% and 6.44% respectively.
Percentage Losers
Livestock Feeds and Sovereign Trust Insurance both led the price decliners list, shedding 9.09% of their share price to close at N0.50 and N0.20 respectively.
Meyer Plc, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated and Fidson Healthcare among other price decliners also shed 8.00%, 7.69% and 5.45% respectively.
