Equities market gains further, grew by 0.13%

The Nigerian equities market on Friday closed green yet again though with a negative breadth as stocks on the red table outnumbered those on the gainers’ chart.

At the end of the last trading day of the week, the All Share Index grew by 0.13% to settle at 29,628.84 points above the previous close of 29,591.29 points on Thursday.

The Market capitalisation grew by 0.13% to stand at N15.262 trillion away from the previous close of N15.242 trillion, adding N20 billion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 184.5 million units, shedding 6.28% from the previous close of 196.9 million units.

The value of traded stocks also declined by 54.43%, to close at N3.5 billion against the previous close of N7.7 billion.

Total number of deals settled at 3,852, appreciated by 32.14% from the previous close of 2,915 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The market Breadth closed negative as 16 stocks gained while 20 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

 Percentage Gainers

NEM Insurance led the price percentage gainers’ list with 10.00% growth to close at N2.20 from the previous close of N2.00.

Beta Glass grew its share price by 9.55% closing at N70.00 from the previous close of N63.90.

Honey well Flour and Linkage Assurance grew their share prices by 9.26% and 9.09% to close at N1.18 and N0.48 respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Unilever, NCR Nigeria Plc, ABC Transport and Unity Bank ahead of 16 other stocks shed their share prices by 9.77%, 9.32%, 8.89% and 8.70% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

Guaranty traded about 34 million units of its shares in 324 deals, valued at N1.1 billion.

Zenith Bank traded about 11 million units of its shares in 388 deals, valued at about N242 million.
